This recruitment is for the entire jurisdiction of Local 52. It covers the areas of Hampton Roads, Eastern Shore of Virginia, and parts of Southeast North Carolina. This includes the outlying areas as well. LOCATION: 4976 Euclid Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 Local 52 will be accepting applications for prospective apprentices Applications will be available beginning July 1st, 2025, at 9:00 AM until the 500th application is requested or July 31st, 2025, at 5:00 PM, whichever comes first Please note APPLY BUTTON will be available when Application period begins on 07/01/25 Completed applications must be submitted by August 1st, 2025 5:00pm EST FEES: You will be required to pay the $25 non-refundable fee and upload proof of education at the time of completing your application. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be at least 17 years of age to apply and 18 years of age to be registered by the Local Joint Apprenticeship Committee. . Applicants shall be a high school graduate or provide proof of equivalent educational attainment such as completion of the General Education Development (GED) tests. Each applicant shall submit (upload), with the completed application, a high school transcript, or high school diploma, or an official report of GED test results. APTITUDE: All applicants shall pass an examination designed to test the applicant’s reading, math skills, and aptitude for employment in the elevator industry. TOOL ASSESSMENT: Applicants will also take a Tool Assessment designed to assess knowledge of basic tools and their use, as well as basic measuring skills. PHYSICAL: Be capable of performing the physical requirements of the job without posing a threat to the health and safety of themselves or others. * Upon selection, pass a drug test. (Paid by the employer). * A photo I.D. must be presented during the application process. * If you have ever accepted a job as an apprentice in the IUEC you may NOT apply to this recruitment.
