ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Head Librarian, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Accurately shelve books, auction catalogs and periodicals in the library’s stacks according to established procedures.
• Retrieve materials requested by patrons and staff.
• Read shelves to keep books in proper order.
• Process archival materials (review, describe, enter into database).
• For at least one hour a day work at the Information Services Desk, helping visitors and staff.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Librarian.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Background in art history preferred.
• General knowledge of library procedures.
• Solid organizational skills and accuracy and close attention to detail.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to successfully complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Physical demands: frequent standing, walking, and reaching. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and climb stairs with ease.
