Vice President, Clinical Operations

Location: Remote (US) or Boston, Massachusetts (1-2 days a bi-weekly if in MA).

Company Overview:

Currently working with an early stage, multiple clinical asset oncology biotech that has 5 offices globally.

Looking for a VP of Clinical Operations who can help drive Phase I-III oncology studies, especially for US patient recruitment and study start-up targets. We need someone who can identify and execute the best strategy to fast-track 3x Clinical Trials (1x Phase III, 2x Phase I). This is a global biotech, 2,000+ employees so strong functional and cross-functional leadership is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive clinical execution globally (EU and US) with a core focus on the USA.
• Patient milestones: Patient enrolment, site access and no-delays - everyone wants it but only the best clin ops people can deliver it.
• Team structure: Identify missing skill gaps and weak spots - hire the best people to ensure best chances of achieving expected targets.
• Oversee the planning, initiation, and execution of global clinical trials, from Phase I through Phase III, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Vendor Management: Strategically maintain high functioning relationship with external vendors, including clinical research organizations (CROs), central labs, and other service providers. Ensure those in your team are ON THEIR TOES and not letting CROs timelines run away.
• Regulatory Compliance: Again - if Clin Ops is involved in any IBR, TMFs or other Acronym that could speed up / slow down regulatory pathways - make sure you and your team ARE ON IT.
• Communication: You MUST be comfortable communicating upwards to the CMO and CEO if something is wrong, targets are not acheiveable or anything else critical - no hope for the best here.

Requirements:

• Essential: Global phase III trial execution - including multiple site start up, patient enrolment and proactively driving studies.
• Essential: Oncology clinical trial work.
• Essential: Must be based in the US with full working rights. The company is EU based so strong preference for those in East Coast.
• Essential: Proactive, Driven and enjoys getting sh*t done.
• Essential: Extensive Pharma / Biotech experience - CRO only people will not be considered at this stage.
• Essential: Previous line management experience - not necessary to be current exp - but strong functional and cross functional experience (at least 5 years direct line management experience in Clin Ops).
• Ideal: Worked with international fast moving biotechs.
